Publisher Requirements

PubExa LTD — Last updated: June 20, 2026

These requirements describe the standards a website (“Site”) must meet to join and remain in the PubExa network. We review every Site before approval and on an ongoing basis. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee approval, and we may decline or remove any Site at our discretion. We may update these requirements from time to time, and continued participation requires ongoing compliance.

1. Technical requirements
  • Your Site must be served over a secure connection (HTTPS).
  • Your Site must function correctly across common devices, browsers, and screen sizes.
  • You must integrate the PubExa plugin or ad code as provided, keep it on the current version, and not modify it in a way that conceals or alters advertisements or interferes with measurement.
  • Your Site should offer a good user experience: pages should load quickly and remain visually stable and interactive (for example, healthy Core Web Vitals such as Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint, and Cumulative Layout Shift).
2. Traffic and audience
  • Traffic must be genuine and human. Incentivised, purchased, bot, automated, or otherwise artificial traffic is not permitted, consistent with our Terms of Service.
  • If social media is your Site’s primary traffic source, a link to that source should be present on the Site.
3. Content quality
  • Content must be original and your own — not copied or duplicated from elsewhere.
  • Your Site should contain a meaningful body of substantive content
  • Headlines, images, and videos must accurately reflect the content they accompany and must not mislead.
  • Media should be of good quality and appropriate for normal screen sizes, and must not be blurred except to protect a person’s privacy.
4. Prohibited Site content

Your Site must not contain or promote:

  • illegal content or activity, including piracy or unauthorised distribution of copyrighted works (audio, video, e-books, software, games, and similar);
  • adult or sexually explicit content;
  • gratuitously violent, gory, or shocking content (for example graphic injuries, corpses, crime-scene or accident imagery, or similar);
  • fabricated or misleading news, including unverifiable claims, distorted headlines, or disinformation;
  • hatred, harassment, violence, or discrimination against any group or individual;
  • malware or deceptive, harmful, or abusive technical practices; or
  • any other content prohibited by Applicable Law or our published policies.
5. Advertising layout and user experience
  • Advertising must not dominate the page. Advertising should not exceed 30% of page content, except for formats designed to blend inventory and advertising into a single positive-experience unit.
  • In-article advertising placements must be reasonably spaced — at least 200 words apart — so they do not disrupt reading.
  • No intrusive advertising that prevents visitors from easily perceiving content, such as pop-ups or pop-unders that cannot be readily closed.
  • Any third-party advertising on your Site must also avoid adult, illegal, or otherwise prohibited content or product promotion.
6. Plugin and placement rules
  • Use a separate placement and its own ad code for each advertising unit on a page.
  • Your Site’s layout, other advertising units, and any other scripts must not interfere with the proper functioning of the PubExa plugin or with accurate measurement and reporting.
  • Do not place PubExa advertising units in prohibited locations, including pop-ups or pop-unders, emails, auto-refreshing pages used to inflate counts, hidden or stacked placements, or any placement designed to generate non-genuine impressions or clicks.
7. Privacy and consent
  • Your Site must include a clear privacy policy that discloses the data collection, use, and sharing that takes place on the Site, including in connection with advertising.
  • Where required by law (for example in the EU and UK), your Site must present a cookie-consent mechanism to visitors before placing or reading non-essential cookies, and must respect their choices.
  • You are responsible for your own privacy disclosures; any language we may suggest is not legal advice and is not a substitute for it.
8. Review and changes

We review Sites against these requirements before approval and may re-review at any time. We may approve, reject, suspend, or remove a Site, in our reasonable discretion, including where it no longer meets these requirements or our policies. These requirements may be updated, and we will apply the current version to Sites in the network.
